About Dr Wameyo
Dr Elon Willis Wameyo was the first gynaecologist of African descent in Kenya after graduating from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and being trained at Glasgow, Scotland in 1969.
A philanthropist is his own stead attributed to his humble childhood during which he suffered polio and got inspired to study medicine.
He later joined politics as a gateway to service to his people during which he served as a member of Parliament for Mumias as well as a minister. He passed on in 2003.
